Hi, it’s been a hot minute, but I felt compelled to write again in this format. Something about turning 40 and looking around and wanting to create and write from my own perspective. I’m hoping to use this platform, Marisa Olsen Writes, to explore food, travel, home, inspiration, and my favorite kitchen items.

The past few years have been full of change and transitions. We’ve moved from NYC to Jersey City to Boston to Cohasset. I have two kids. I began a career freelance writing, creating connections with local businesses and restaurants as well as connections nationally, writing about many food-related concepts, such as meal delivery kits, appliances, food items, all alongside plenty of researching and interviewing experts. Alongside my freelancing, I’m hoping to carve out some additional space to explore and connect with my passions. My previous blog, Girl Loves Food still lives in the universe, but I’m going to keep it as is and where I’ve left it and use this moment to start fresh. So in a way, this feels like a new homecoming.
